FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal confirms split from partner Nicki Nicole: Spanish media
FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal, 18, has confirmed the end of his romance with Argentine singer and rapper Nicki Nicole.
The relationship, which began circulating in rumors over the summer and was officially confirmed in August 2025, has concluded after approximately three months.
The confirmation of the separation was delivered by Yamal to Spanish entertainment journalist Javi Hoyos, with the young football prodigy denying rumors of infidelity that had circulated in the media.
Yamal said the decision was mutual and amicable, and explicitly denying the involvement of any external parties.
In a direct quote shared through Hoyos, Yamal said:
“We are not together, but has not been because of any infidelity. We have simply separated and that's it. Everything that is coming out has nothing to do with our relationship. I have not been unfaithful to him nor have I been with another person”.
The denial stems from rumors linking Yamal to Italian influencer Anna Genosso during a private trip to Milan. Yamal clarified that the relationship had ended before the alleged trip took place.
Yamal "stressed that they had already ended their relationship before that well-known trip [to Milan]; they were no longer together at that point,” according to Hoyos, adding that the split happened "for other personal reasons" unrelated to cheating.
Focus Shifts to Injury Crisis
The saga coincides with a critical period for Yamal professionally. The young star has been battling a nagging groin injury known as Pubalgia (groin overload) since September 2025, which has noticeably affected his play.
FC Barcelona’s management is reportedly concerned about Yamal's capacity to maintain focus on the pitch while managing the injury and emotional turmoil. Symptoms of Pubalgia directly impair attributes central to his game, such as the ability to make quick changes of pace or direction.
One medical specialist noted the condition "doesn't impede a player from playing," but it "does transform the player," making them "slower, less reactive, and with much less capable of striking the ball”.
