Passengers on a Blue Bird Airways flight from Barcelona to Tel Aviv were surprised upon arrival in ‘Israel’ to find that the word “Palestine” had been written on one traveler’s luggage allegedly by airport ground staff in Barcelona.

In response, Blue Bird Airways issued a statement expressing concern over the incident. “As an Israeli-owned airline that continued operating flights to Israel throughout the war, Blue Bird Airways views this matter with great seriousness,” the company said.

It added that it had immediately contacted the ground services provider in Barcelona, demanding that similar incidents not occur again, and extended an apology to its passengers, emphasizing its commitment to its customers.

This case follows a series of recent incidents involving messages linked to the 'Israeli' aggression on Gaza appearing on or with passengers’ belongings. In August, StopAntisemitism said that a Jewish passenger on a JetBlue flight in the United States received a kosher meal with the word “Zionazi” handwritten on the packaging - a term combining “Zionist” and “Nazi.”

The group shared a photo of the meal and called for disciplinary action against those responsible, stating, “We are shocked to see a JetBlue passenger receive a kosher meal with such a hateful message. This is unacceptable, and Jews will not tolerate this hatred.”

In another incident that same month, Jewish passengers flying from Madrid to Buenos Aires reported receiving kosher meals marked with “Free Palestine” or the initials “FP.”
