Jordanian passport slides to 90th globally in 2025 Henlex Index

The Jordanian passport has slightly declined in global ranking, falling to 90th place in the 2025 Henley Passport Index. This marks a drop from its previous position at 87th, according to the latest data.

The Henley Index measures passport strength based on the number of destinations a holder can access without a prior visa or with a visa upon arrival.

New Ranking and Access

According to the 2025 classification, the Jordanian passport grants its holder access to 52 countries worldwide without the need for a pre-arranged visa or with a visa issued on arrival.

Historical Perspective and Impact

A historical review of the index shows that the Jordanian passport’s best performance was in 2006, when it ranked 75th globally.

The lowest ranking was in 2021, at 98th.

For comparison, the UAE consistently ranks among the top globally due to its rapid ascent in recent years, while countries like Iraq and Afghanistan remain at the bottom of the list.
