US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s plane makes emergency landing in UK

A US military plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft’s windshield, the Pentagon confirmed. Officials said Hegseth and all passengers are safe.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated on X, “The plane landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe.”

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels when the issue occurred.

This incident follows earlier mechanical problems involving US military aircraft carrying senior officials. Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich had to return to Washington due to a mechanical failure.
