Hamas has confirmed that the fourth body handed over to 'Israel' on Tuesday night is that of an Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) soldier, contradicting earlier 'Israeli' claims that the remains were not of 'Israeli' origin.
A senior Hamas official told Al Jazeera that the soldier was captured during a military operation by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades in the Jabalia refugee camp in May 2024.
The official stated, "The body that the enemy claims is not Israeli is that of a soldier captured in a resistance operation."
The 'Israeli' military had previously asserted that the remains handed over were not of 'Israeli' origin. However, Hamas's confirmation has raised questions about the accuracy of 'Israel's' initial assessment.
