The ‘Israeli’ military said Wednesday that one of the four bodies returned by Hamas as part of the ceasefire agreement is not a former captive.

After examinations at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, the fourth body handed over by Hamas “does not match any of the hostages,” the military said in a statement.

“Hamas is required to make all necessary efforts to return the deceased hostages,” the statement added.

The body belongs to a Palestinian, according to Hebrew media.

The other three bodies were identified as Staff Sgt. Tamir Nimrodi, Uriel Baruch, and Eitan Levy, 53.

Earlier this year, a similar incident happened, when Hamas gave ‘Israel’ a body it said belonged to Shiri Bibas, but turned out to be a Palestinian woman.

Hamas later gave the body of Bibas back to ‘Israel’.
