In a visit celebrating the Gaza ceasefire agreement, US President Donald Trump arrived in Tel Aviv on Monday morning, a trip marking the culmination of Washington’s role in ending a two-year offensive and what Trump called “a new dawn in the Middle East.”

As Trump walked the red carpet alongside ‘Israeli’ President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he remarked, “It’s a great day, maybe your best."

Netanyahu replied, “It’s a historic moment,” according to footage released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Later, Trump signed the Knesset guest register, writing: “It’s a great honor. A great day, a wonderful day. A new beginning.”

Trump’s brief but symbolic visit included an address to the Knesset, the first by a US president since George W. Bush in 2008, and a meeting with recently released captives and their families at Sheba Medical Center.

Before landing, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that “the war is over” and expressed confidence that the ceasefire “will hold.”

Following his Tel Aviv visit, Trump arrived in Egypt to co-chair the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The summit, attended by leaders and representatives from more than 20 nations and international organizations, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, aims to solidify the Gaza ceasefire, discuss its implementation, and outline a roadmap for the “day after” in Gaza.

Trump, El-Sisi, and Netanyahu reportedly coordinated the summit details in a trilateral call earlier today.
