Jewish American Gaza flotilla activist details abuse in 'Israeli' detention

Jewish American activist David Rashi Kremen Adler, co-general coordinator of the Progressive International, has detailed in a recent interview the severe mistreatment after being detained by 'Israeli' forces while attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

In a detailed account of his experience, Adler said 'Israeli' authorities singled him out because of his Jewish background. “They reached down and saw my passport, which had my full name, David Rashi Kremen Adler, and asked if I was Jewish. I said I was Jewish. They ripped me by the ear, forced me to bend down, and stare at the flag of the State of Israel,” he said.

Adler further described being targeted by far-right 'Israeli' minister Itamar Ben Gvir during a personal encounter, calling him a terrorist to his face.

Over the following hours, he said, he and other detainees were strip-searched, zip-tied, blindfolded, and transported to Ketsiot, one of 'Israel’s' most notorious detention camps in the Negev desert. The facility, spanning 400,000 square meters, has held hundreds of Palestinian political prisoners over the past three decades, many of whom have reportedly faced torture.

'Israeli' forces have detained more than 500 peace activists over the past week as they sailed toward Gaza to provide humanitarian aid to the besieged territory.

Adler’s account highlights the risks faced by activists attempting to deliver aid and the heightened tensions surrounding 'Israel’s' enforcement of its policies on Gaza-bound missions.
