Jordan holds ‘Israel’ responsible for Sumud flotilla activists’ safety
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said it is closely monitoring the situation of Jordanian citizens participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was intercepted by ‘Israeli’ authorities in international waters en route to Gaza.
The ministry stressed in statements to the press that it holds ‘Israel’ fully responsible for the lives and safety of the Jordanians on board and warned against harming them.

It added that all necessary measures and diplomatic contacts are being taken to ensure the citizens’ safety and secure their swift return to Jordan.
The official Jordanian stance aligns with broader Arab and international criticism of the interception, which aims to break the blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid.
Jordan emphasized that intercepting ships in international waters constitutes a violation of international law and freedom of navigation.
