President Donald Trump said Tuesday the US military is “reawakening warrior spirit” as he addressed hundreds of senior officers gathered in Quantico, Virginia.

"Together, we're reawakening the warrior spirit. And this is a spirit that won and built this nation," Trump told the US generals and admirals.

This isn’t the only move Trump has made to project a more explicit military posture.

Earlier in September, he ordered the Pentagon’s name to be changed from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of War.

In his address, the US president said it would be an "insult to our country" if he does not win a Nobel Peace Prize.

"Will you get the Nobel Prize? Absolutely not. They'll give it to some guy that didn't do a damn thing," Trump told the military officers. "It'd be a big insult to our country."

Additionally, he said crackdowns involving the National Guard in several US cities were a "major part for some of the people in this room. That's a war too -- it's a war from within."
