Lebanon calls for quick approval of Trump’s Gaza plan
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday welcomed the plan proposed by US President Donald Trump aimed at ending the ongoing offensive in Gaza.
In an official statement, Aoun expressed hope that “the plan will receive approval from the concerned parties as soon as possible,” referring to the need for all sides to respond positively to the US proposal.

The president hailed “efforts to end the suffering of civilians and innocents in the Gaza Strip, stop the bloodshed, and work together for a stable and prosperous Middle East based on the principles of justice and human dignity.”
Lebanon’s position joins a series of international and regional reactions supporting the plan, most notably a joint statement by eight Arab and Islamic countries, as well as supportive stances from the European Union, France, and the United Kingdom.
The Lebanese stance is particularly significant as any progress toward a ceasefire in Gaza may be seen as a step de-escalating other fronts like the Lebanese border.
Earlier Tuesday, the ‘Israeli’ military claimed that it killed two Hezbollah officials in airstrikes it carried out Monday in southern Lebanon.
