Hamas’ military wing Al-Qassam Brigades released a video confirming the death of their leader Mohammad Sinwar during an attack on an ‘Israeli’ site in Khan Younis in August.

The footage, released on Sunday, showed fighters talking before the attack, where one of the fighters said that Mohammad Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim) is a “martyr”.

Hamas previously announced that Mohammad, brother of former leader Yahya, was “martyred” in an ‘Israeli’ attack, but later retracted its statement.

The video, part of the "David's Stones" series, shows the operation on Aug. 20, 2025. It depicts fighters observing the newly established ‘Israeli’ military site before emerging from a tunnel, which the group said was being used for the fourth time.

The fighters attacked the site, targeting several Merkava-4 tanks with explosive devices and Yassin-105 rockets.

A support force reportedly fired six anti-fortification shells and machine guns at nearby houses where ‘Israeli’ soldiers were positioned.

Al-Qassam said its fighters then stormed the houses, killing several ‘Israeli’ soldiers inside at "point-blank range" with light weapons and hand grenades.
