Emergency donations underway for Palestinian Authority, Norway says
An international coalition of donor nations has launched an emergency financial package to support the Palestinian Authority (PA), Norway's foreign ministry announced Friday.
The move aims to prevent a complete collapse of the PA’s finances and governance amid ‘Israel’s’ continued withholding of tax revenues, and severe West Bank economic contraction from movement restrictions.

The initiative, called the "Emergency Coalition for the Financial Sustainability of the Palestinian Authority," was established in direct response to what the ministry called the "urgent and unprecedented financial crisis" facing the PA.
Nations including Saudi Arabia, Spain, Britain, Japan, and France have joined the coalition.
Norway, which for decades has chaired the international donor group to the Palestinians (the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee or AHLC), stated its own immediate contribution to the package would be 40 million Norwegian crowns (USD 4 million).
However, the total funding to be raised by the coalition was not immediately disclosed.
