Jordan condemns 'Israeli' raids on Al Aqsa mosque
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the incursions by extremists into Al-Aqsa Mosque, carried out under the protection of ‘Israeli’ police.
In a press statement, ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali said these actions constitute a blatant breach of international law and a grave violation of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem as well as its holy sites.
Majali warned of the consequences of continuing such violations and of ‘Israel’s’ attempts, as the occupying power, to impose new realities aimed at dividing Al-Aqsa Mosque both temporally and spatially.

He added that “the reckless policies and actions of the extremist Israeli government in Jerusalem and its holy sites threaten to expand the conflict globally.”
The spokesman called on the international community to uphold its responsibilities, compel ‘Israel’ to halt its ongoing violations in occupied Jerusalem, its escalation in the West Bank, and its aggression on Gaza.
Additionally, he stressed the need for protecting Palestinians in establishing their independent state.
Majali reaffirmed that the entire area of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship solely for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with Jordan’s Ministry of Awqaf, is the sole legal authority responsible for managing all affairs of the holy site.
