  • The decomposed remains of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez were found inside a vehicle registered to singer D4vd.
  • Authorities have not charged the 20-year-old artist but say he is cooperating fully with the investigation.
  • Several US and European tour dates have been canceled, with venues removing listings.

On Sept. 8, Los Angeles police discovered human remains inside the trunk of an impounded vehicle at a tow yard after workers reported a foul odor. The car, bearing Texas plates, had been towed from the Hollywood Hills five days earlier.

Authorities later confirmed the victim as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who went missing in April 2024 from Lake Elsinore, California, at age 13.

Her body was described as “severely decomposed,” and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Connection to D4vd

The car was registered to 20-year-old singer David Anthony Burke, professionally known as D4vd. While police have not confirmed ownership or named him a suspect, reports noted that he and the victim shared a matching “Shhh…” tattoo on their right index fingers.

An unnamed representative told NBC Los Angeles that the artist has been cooperating with investigators since being informed of the discovery.

Tour Cancellations

Following the revelation, several of D4vd’s upcoming shows have been canceled. Ticketmaster marked his scheduled San Francisco and Los Angeles concerts as canceled, and a Grammy Museum event in Los Angeles was also removed. At least nine European dates, including an Oct. 1 show in Norway, have been pulled from ticketing platforms.

Some tour stops in Sweden, France, Poland, and Australia remain available for purchase.

The controversy has prompted reactions from within the music industry. Grammy-winning artist Kali Uchis announced she is removing her collaboration “Crashing” with D4vd from streaming services, distancing herself from the singer on social media.

Background on the Artist

Houston-born D4vd rose to fame on TikTok in 2022 with his viral track Romantic Homicide, which reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.

He later signed with Darkroom and Interscope, releasing two EPs in 2023 and his debut album Withered in April 2025.
