'Israeli' soldiers walk down a road during a raid
'Israeli' forces arrest entire West Bank village council in early-morning raid
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out a pre-dawn raid in Hajjah village, east of Qalqilya, on Saturday, detaining the entire leadership of the village council, effectively paralyzing the council’s operations.
The IOF reportedly stormed the homes of the council members before taking them to an undisclosed location for questioning. No reasons for the arrests have been provided.
This move is a significant blow to civil and administrative services in Hajjah, as the collective detention of the council leadership leaves the village without its primary administrative authority, impacting the delivery of essential services and management of daily affairs.
Such raids are part of a broader pattern in the occupied West Bank, where the IOF frequently target Palestinian local leaders and officials. These operations aim to impose control and undermine Palestinian civil and administrative structures, according to local observers.
