Houthi drone hits Eilat as ‘Israeli’ army says missile intercepted from Yemen
The ‘Israeli’ army on Thursday claimed it successfully intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, but a drone managed to hit the city of Eilat, according to military and police reports.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for three separate operations against ‘Israel’.
Details of the Attacks
The ‘Israeli’ army said in a statement that its air force intercepted a "missile launched from Yemen that caused alerts to be activated in several areas."
Shortly after, ‘Israeli’ police confirmed they had secured a crash site for a drone that was launched from the east and hit near a hotel entrance in the southern settlement of Eilat.
Local media broadcast footage of the drone striking near the hotel. The army added that a second drone was also intercepted.

Houthi statement
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced that the group had carried out "three military operations" against ‘Israel’.
He said the first attack targeted a "sensitive military target" in the Jaffa area with a hypersonic ballistic missile.
Saree also said that the other two operations targeted "Zionist enemy targets" in Beersheba and Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) with four drones.
The attacks are the latest in a series of missile and drone strikes launched by the Iran-backed Houthis toward ‘Israel’ since the start of the war on Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023.
The group says the attacks are in support of the Palestinians. In return, ‘Israel’ has launched deadly strikes on Houthi-controlled areas, targeting ports, power plants, and Sanaa airport.
