The strike marked a major escalation in the regional conflict with 'Israel' directly carrying out an attack on Qatari soil, a country that has positioned itself as a key mediator in the Gaza war.
Qatar, alongside the United States and Egypt, has been central to ongoing negotiations aimed at halting the fighting, though efforts have so far failed to produce a lasting ceasefire.
