Jordanian army thwarts attempted border infiltration

The Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Monday that units from the Northern Military Region successfully prevented two individuals from illegally crossing into Jordan on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Jordanian Armed Forces’ General Command, border guard units stationed along the kingdom’s northern frontier detected movements of two people attempting to exploit the terrain to enter Jordan unlawfully.

The statement added that the situation was immediately addressed in accordance with the applicable rules of engagement, resulting in the apprehension of both individuals without any injuries.

The detainees were handed over to the relevant security authorities for legal procedures and further investigation into the motives behind the attempted infiltration.

The incident underscores the Jordanian Armed Forces’ ongoing efforts to secure the nation’s borders, prevent unauthorized crossings or smuggling attempts, and maintain readiness to respond firmly to any threats to national security.
