Two Turkish police officers killed in Izmir shooting

Two police officers were killed and a third critically injured in a shooting at a police station near the resort city of Izmir in Turkey early Monday, according to local media reports.

The attack reportedly took place in the Balcova district of Izmir province. Authorities said the assailant, a teenager, was apprehended at the scene.

The private broadcaster NTV and the DHA news agency reported that the motive behind the attack is still under investigation.
