Gaza death toll reaches 62,622, says Gaza health ministry

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Saturday that the death toll from nearly 23 months of ongoing 'Israeli' attacks has risen to 62,622 killed and 157,673 wounded.

In its daily statistical report, the ministry said hospitals in Gaza received 61 bodies and 308 injured people over the past 24 hours, as 'Israeli' bombardments continued.

The ministry noted that more victims remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed homes and on the streets, but rescue crews are unable to reach them due to a lack of equipment and the dangerous conditions in areas where 'Israeli' forces are present.

Since 'Israel' resumed its assault on March 18, the ministry reported 10,778 killed and 45,632 wounded. It also said that an additional 298 fatalities have been added to the cumulative toll after their data was confirmed by the judicial committee responsible for documenting missing persons and death reports.

On starvation-related deaths, the ministry said the number of Palestinians killed while waiting for aid has risen to 2,076 killed and more than 15,308 wounded since May 27. This includes 16 killed and 111 wounded in the past 24 hours alone.
