'Israeli' forces arrest Palestinian suspected of shooting near Ramallah

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Friday announced the arrest of a Palestinian man suspected of carrying out a shooting near the Binyamin area, northeast of Ramallah. The operation took place less than 24 hours after the attack.

The arrest followed a rapid joint pursuit conducted by the Binyamin Brigade, the Shin Bet, and the Shai unit. Security sources said forces carried out careful sweeps and raids in the village of Al Mughayyir, leading to the suspect’s capture.

The arrested man, reportedly around 30 years old and a resident of Al Mughayyir, was questioned by the Shin Bet, which confirmed that information linking him to the shooting had been obtained.

During the operation, authorities also seized the pistol believed to have been used in the attack.

The IOF stated that forces from the Binyamin Brigade continue security activities in the village targeting individuals described as “suspected of incitement and hostile activities.”
