VIDEO: 'Israel' says it targeted Houthi-linked power station near Sanaa
The 'Israeli' military said it struck an energy infrastructure site south of the Yemeni capital Sanaa early Sunday, reportedly hitting the Haziz power station used by Iran-aligned Houthi forces.
In a statement, the military claimed the strikes were carried out in response to repeated Houthi attacks on 'Israel', including missile and drone launches toward 'Israeli' territory. 'Israeli' media reported that the 'Israeli' navy conducted the operation.
Houthi-run Al Masirah TV described the attack as an “aggression,” reporting that several generators at the power station were taken offline. Firefighting teams reportedly contained a blaze resulting from the strike, according to the Yemeni deputy prime minister.
Local residents in Sanaa said at least two explosions were heard earlier in the morning. No immediate casualty reports were available.
