Hamas delegation arrives in Cairo for Gaza ceasefire talks

A Hamas delegation, headed by the group’s chief Khalil al-Hayya, has arrived in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials regarding the “latest developments in the war in Gaza,” a statement by the Palestinian group said just now.

Hamas official Taher al-Nunu, who is in Cairo, said the delegation began preliminary discussions for meetings that will start on Wednesday.

The talks are expected to focus on “ways to halt the war in Gaza, facilitate the entry of aid, end the suffering of the Palestinian people, and address internal Palestinian relations to reach national consensus on political issues,” according to the statement.
