Banned Muslim Brotherhood meeting in Irbid home leads to arrests
Jordanian security forces on Monday evening detained several individuals in the city of Irbid for holding a meeting related to the banned Muslim Brotherhood group.
According to an informed source cited by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the arrests were carried out by the judicial police, who referred the detainees to the judiciary for legal action.
The meeting, which was organized in a private home, had been convened in a coordinated manner and was monitored by the relevant authorities.
Officials said the gathering violated the law, noting that since the group’s ban, authorities have observed attempts to circumvent the decision by holding meetings under various pretexts, often framed as “social occasions”, in the homes of members affiliated with the outlawed organization.
