'Israeli' forces launch surprise ‘Dawn’ military drill
On Sunday, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) began an unannounced military drill, codenamed “Dawn,” aimed at testing the readiness of its top command and major operational centers to handle large-scale, complex attacks.
The exercise, initiated under the orders of Chief of Staff Major General Eyal Zamir, was designed to measure how quickly and effectively the IOF could respond to sudden threats.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the scenarios included unexpected incidents and simultaneous events across multiple “theaters of war.”
Oversight of the drill was carried out by IOF Comptroller Brigadier General Ofer Sarigm and his inspection team, who evaluated the forces’ performance, focusing on both speed and operational quality.
“The IDF will continue and initiate a series of audit activities across all commands, branches, and units in order to improve their competence and readiness,” the forces stated.
The training exercise came against the backdrop of ongoing operations on several fronts. Late Saturday, the army reported striking a Hezbollah operative in the town of Aynata, southern Lebanon. The target was said to be gathering intelligence on the IOF, an act the forces claimed violated the ceasefire agreement between 'Israel' and Lebanon.
