British actress Miriam Margolyes is facing backlash after comments likening 'Israel’s' actions in Gaza to those of Nazi Germany.

The 'Campaign Against Antisemitism' has called for her to be stripped of her OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) and BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) awards, describing her remarks as “racist bilge.”

In an interview with The Big Issue, the 84-year-old, who is Jewish, said Adolf Hitler had “won” by turning Jews “into him,” referring to the 'Israeli' government’s treatment of Palestinians. “My heart is broken,” she said. “Hitler changed us. He made us like him.”

The group condemned the comments, stating that being Jewish does not excuse spreading “anti-Jewish venom.”

Margolyes was awarded an OBE for her services to drama. The OBE is a British honor granted by the monarch to individuals for outstanding contributions to fields like the arts, sciences, and public service. She also received a BAFTA award in 1993 for her role in The Age of Innocence, a prestigious recognition considered one of the UK's top honors in film and television.

Margolyes has previously spoken out against the aggression on Gaza, urging for a ceasefire and criticizing 'Israel’s' tactics. Her latest remarks have sparked widespread debate online and drawn support from pro-Palestinian activists.
