Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv witnessed major disruptions on Friday after airport workers launched a surprise strike to protest low wages and severe staff shortages, according to Channel 12.

The strike caused thousands of passengers to crowd the airport’s waiting halls, with several flights delayed or canceled, leading to logistical chaos and mounting frustration among travelers.

Employees are demanding better wages and improved working conditions, citing overwhelming pressure caused by a significant lack of staff. Workers say this shortage has led to exhaustion and a noticeable decline in service quality.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by the 'Israeli' authorities. However, local media reported that government efforts are underway to resolve the crisis and restore airport operations within hours.

The strike comes at a critical time, during the peak of the summer travel season, raising concerns that the situation could worsen if workers’ demands are not addressed promptly.
