Houthi leader announces plan to study further escalation against 'Israel'

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement, said on Thursday that his group is reviewing new escalation options in response to the ongoing 'Israeli' offensive on the Gaza Strip.

In a video statement released via the group’s official Telegram channel, al-Houthi emphasized that the movement continues to enhance its military capabilities to increase their effectiveness in striking 'Israel' and exerting pressure.

"With the tragedy in Gaza, we are studying additional escalation options," he declared, underscoring his group’s unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian people.

Al-Houthi also called on countries bordering Palestine to open their borders and allow Yemenis to join efforts to defend the Palestinian cause.

"We hope and seek to open routes that allow our people to cross and support the Palestinian people," he said. "Opening these passages is something we desire and strive for."
