VIDEO: “Israeli” soldier dies from suicide attempt wounds: Hebrew media

An “Israeli” soldier who attempted to take his own life last week has succumbed to his wounds, Hebrew media reported on Sunday. 

He is identified as Corporal Dan Phillipson, and is described as a “lone soldier” from Norway who moved to “Israel” one year ago to serve in the military. 

Last Tuesday, the army said in a statement that he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a training base in southern “Israel”.

In the past two weeks alone, four “Israeli” soldiers have committed suicide, bringing the total to 19 cases in 2025.

The “Israeli” military does not disclose deaths by suicide, but rather reveals it in a report released at the end of every year.

Haaretz said in an earlier report that there has been a surge in suicides among “Israeli” soldiers in the year 2025.
