'Israel', Syria agree to ceasefire, says US envoy
Thomas Barrack, the US envoy to Syria and Turkey, announced that ‘Israel’ and Syria, backed by the United States, have agreed to a ceasefire in the Sweida region, with guarantees from Jordan and Turkey.
Barrack called on the Druze, Bedouin tribes, and other groups to lay down their arms and work toward building “a new identity for Syria.”
So far, there has been no comment from the Syrian side regarding the details or implementation of the agreement.
Hebrew media reported that 'Israeli' Prime Minister Netanyahu and Syrian President Al-Sharaa, supported by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, agreed on a ceasefire backed by Turkey, Jordan, and other neighboring countries.
The report added calls for Druze, Bedouin, Sunnis, and other minorities to disarm and unite in building a new, unified Syrian identity.
All Syrians are urged to respect one another and live in peace and prosperity with their neighbors.
