Syrian Interior Ministry denies security forces entered Sweida

Syrian Interior Ministry spokesman Nour Eddin Al-Baba on Thursday denied media reports claiming that its internal security forces had entered Sweida.

"We confirm that no official statement has been issued in this regard, and we categorically deny the accuracy of what has been published," Al-Baba stated.

Al-Baba said the Syrian Interior Ministry forces remain in their normal state of readiness, with no movement or deployment in Sweida up to this moment.

The statement comes as clashes continue between Bedouin tribes and Druze fighters in Sweida, with reports saying the former is close to entering the city.
