Weapon of starvation: 69 children dead, 620 patients lost in Gaza
The Government Media Office in Gaza has reported a devastating update on the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged strip.
According to a statement released Friday, at least 69 children have died from malnutrition, while the total number of patients who have died due to shortages of food and medicine has reached 620.
This comes amid a complete blockade by the Israeli Occupation, with no effective international intervention in place to halt what local authorities are calling a growing humanitarian catastrophe.
The office revealed the following statistics highlighting the severity of the crisis:
- 139 days since 'Israel' closed all border crossings.
- 76,450 trucks carrying humanitarian aid and fuel have been denied entry.
- 42 community kitchens have been targeted by 'Israeli' forces.
- 57 aid distribution centers were struck.
- 121 humanitarian convoys were attacked.
- 877 people were killed in what the office described as “death traps” at US- and 'Israeli'-designated aid zones.
- 650,000 children are now at risk of death due to hunger and malnutrition.
- 12,500 cancer patients face death from lack of medicine and treatment.
- 60,000 pregnant women are in critical danger due to insufficient medical care and nutrition.
The office condemned what it described as a “continuous crime,” holding the Israeli Occupation fully responsible, alongside its allies such as the United States, Germany, and France.
It called on the international community to take immediate action to end the starvation policy, save lives, and ensure the urgent reopening of Gaza’s crossings to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid.
