The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has issued a strong condemnation of the 'Israeli' shelling of the Latin Monastery Church in Gaza, an attack that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.

The government described the strike as a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law, with specific reference to the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, spokesperson for Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, emphasized that this assault on the Latin Monastery Church reflects the extremist policies of the 'Israeli' government, which persistently carries out aggression and systematic targeting of innocent civilians within the Gaza Strip.

Qudah stressed that 'Israel', as the occupying power, must fulfill its obligations under international law, especially international humanitarian law, and urgently cease attacks on civilian sites and places of worship throughout Gaza.

Furthermore, the ambassador urged the international community to uphold its legal and moral duties by taking immediate and effective measures to halt 'Israeli' aggression. He also called for the swift and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is enduring an unprecedented crisis worsened by ongoing violence.
