The number of “Israeli” soldiers who committed suicide since the start of 2025 is 15, a recent report by Haaretz said.

A combat soldier took his own life in a military base in northern “Israel” on Monday, marking the third case in eight days.

The “Israeli” military police criminal investigations department said they are currently investigating the incident.

Since the start of the war on Oct. 7, 2023, 43 “Israeli” soldiers have committed suicide. The breakdown is as follows:

  • Between Oct. 7, 2023 and end of that year: Seven soldiers
  • 2024: 21 soldiers.
  • 2025 (ongoing): 15 soldiers.

Haaretz reported that the “Israeli” military refused to provide the official figure for this year, saying it will only do so as at the end of 2025.

Military officials cite the increasing number of active personnel as the reason for the rise in suicides, particularly reservists, as most of those who took their own life are reservists.

Sources also says there is a decline in suicides due to personal reasons, which suggests mental triggers from combat as the reason for the increasing numbers.
