Netanyahu arrives at White House for second round of talks with Trump on Gaza
Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the White House for a second consecutive day to meet with US President Donald Trump.
Trump had earlier announced that Netanyahu would return to the White House for new talks aimed at ending the “tragedy” in Gaza, while Qatar emphasized that more time is needed to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Trump said the second meeting with Netanyahu reflects a shared desire among all parties to reach a solution. He added, “It’s a tragedy. He wants to solve it, I want to solve it, and I believe the other side wants that too.”
For his part, US President Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, expressed hope that a 60-day truce could be reached by the end of the week.
Meanwhile, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari stated that it is too early to set a timeline for a ceasefire agreement, noting that indirect talks between Hamas and the occupation will require more time.
