Syria says talk of peace deal with 'Israel' is "premature"

A Syrian official source confirmed on Wednesday that the circulating statements regarding a peace agreement between Syria and the Israeli Occupation at present are "premature" and do not reflect Syria's firm position.

The source clarified that there can be no discussion of any negotiations or new agreements unless Tel Aviv fully complies with the Disengagement Agreement signed in 1974 and withdraws from the areas it has recently advanced into.

The source stressed that commitment to international agreements and adherence to international legitimacy resolutions constitute the foundation for any future action in this regard.
