Explosions in Hama, Idlib leave casualties amid conflicting reports
Syrian media reported Wednesday that two explosions occurred in the towns of Jibreen in Hama countryside and near the town of Al-Foua in northern Idlib, resulting in several casualties.
According to Syria’s state-run news agency SANA, the explosion in Hama was caused by a fuel tanker catching fire, leading to the deaths of several civilians and injuring others. Civil defense and ambulance teams were dispatched to the site.
A correspondent from Al-Ikhbariya TV stated that at least seven people were killed and several others injured in an initial casualty toll from the explosion.
In Idlib, SANA reported that a series of explosions of unknown origin took place near Al-Foua, north of Idlib.
Meanwhile, other Syrian outlets attributed the blasts to a fire that broke out in an ammunition depot between the towns of Kafriya and Al-Foua in northern Idlib countryside.
They added that the repeated explosions were likely caused by high temperatures igniting the depot.
