'Israeli' soldier killed, others wounded in Khan Younis clashes: Report

‘Israeli’ media reported a serious and ongoing security incident in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Sunday.

The incident reportedly involves intense clashes between Palestinian fighters and ‘Israeli’ forces.

According to a statement from Saraya al-Quds (Quds Brigades), the group, in coordination with the Qassam Brigades—Hamas’ armed wing—launched a barrage of mortar shells at ‘Israeli’ troops and military vehicles near Murtaja Junction.

Qassam Brigades also announced that they had targeted ‘Israeli’ military build-ups in the Ma’an area, south of Khan Younis, using mortar fire.

Unverified reports from ‘Israeli’ platforms not subject to military censorship described the situation in Khan Younis as “serious” and ongoing for over an hour, with helicopters reportedly deployed to evacuate wounded soldiers.

According to Hebrew media, at least one ‘Israeli’ soldier was reportedly killed and others injured during clashes with Qassam fighters in Khan Younis. In a separate incident in northern Gaza, an engineering unit was allegedly targeted while entering a building suspected of being booby-trapped. Reports claim the unit consisted of 12 soldiers.

The ‘Israeli’ military has not issued an official statement regarding the incidents.
