Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said on Monday that Doha continues to work with Egypt to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing hope that indirect negotiations between 'Israel' and Hamas could resume in the coming days.

Speaking at a press conference in Doha alongside Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that ongoing efforts aim to stop the war and violence against civilians in Gaza. “We hope there will be an opportunity within the next two days for indirect talks between Hamas and Israel to reach a ceasefire agreement,” he said.

The Qatari premier criticized what he described as “irresponsible Israeli behavior” and urged 'Israel' not to exploit the current lull in its conflict with Iran to intensify attacks on Gaza. He also called on Hamas to release all captives to facilitate a ceasefire deal.

Sheikh Mohammed added that Doha has been engaged in “intensive diplomatic efforts with our regional partners” and reiterated Qatar’s support for the American ceasefire framework. “We had achieved a lot in the past, but the 'Israeli' escalation against Iran disrupted the process. However, we are continuing our efforts, inshallah,” he said.
