As tensions rise in the region due to the ongoing 'Israel'-Iran conflict, the Philippine government has announced preparations to evacuate Filipino workers from 'Israel'. However, no alert level has been issued for Jordan, where many Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) are also based.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila officially raised the alert level in both 'Israel' and Iran to Alert Level 3 (Voluntary Repatriation) on June 20, 2025.

All overseas Filipinos in the two countries have been urged to return to the Philippines, while travel to either destination was strongly discouraged due to the ongoing conflict and the closure of airspace and seaports.

The DFA added that the alert levels will be reviewed based on the evolving situation on the ground.

In coordination with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), high-level officials from the Philippines will be arriving in Jordan on June 22, 2025, to oversee evacuation and repatriation efforts from 'Israel'. DMW Minister Hans Leo Javier Cacdac, Deputy Minister Venecio Vocalos Legaspi, and Labor and Employment Officer Hamdan Baina Sayedy are expected to assist OFWs arriving from 'Israel'.

The delegation will be joined by Philippine Ambassador to Jordan H.E. Wilfredo C. Santos for a press briefing at the Philippine Embassy in Amman. The briefing is scheduled for Sunday following the delegation’s visit to the border.

Embassy representatives emphasized that no lockdown or special restrictions are in place in Amman, and encouraged the Filipino community in Jordan to remain calm and stay updated through official channels.
