The National Center for Security and Crisis Management in Jordan issued safety instructions on Friday for citizens in case air raid sirens are heard or unidentified objects fall from the sky, amid heightened regional tensions following 'Israeli' strikes on Iran.

What to Do If Sirens Are Heard:

  • If you are outdoors: Seek shelter in the nearest building immediately. If no shelter is available, lie on the ground, cover your head with your hands, and preferably stay close to a wall or in a low-lying area.
  • If you are in a vehicle: Pull over safely and remain inside the car.
  • If you are indoors: Stay away from windows and avoid using elevators in case of a power outage.

In all situations, authorities urge the public to call emergency services at 911 if there are injuries or damage, avoid spreading rumors, rely solely on official information sources, and only use phones when absolutely necessary to avoid overloading networks.

What to Do If Unidentified Objects Fall from the Sky:

  • Stay away from the site and maintain a safe distance.
  • Do not approach or touch the object, as it may contain explosives or hazardous materials.
  • Immediately notify the authorities by calling 911.
  • Do not gather at the scene or take photos for social media.
  • Ensure your family members are safe and remain calm.
  • Limit phone use to emergencies to preserve network capacity.

The center emphasized that these instructions aim to ensure public safety and reduce potential risks. It urged citizens to strictly follow official guidance and ignore unverified news or social media posts.
