A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting Tuesday evening that left one person injured in northeast Colorado Springs, according to police.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said the shooting occurred at approximately 6:51 PM near the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Beverly Street. The incident reportedly began as a confrontation between the suspect, identified as Michael Brodus, and the victim.

According to police, Brodus opened fire on the victim’s vehicle before both individuals fled the scene. A video obtained by KRDO13 shows a man stepping out of a car parked on the median of Austin Bluffs Parkway and firing multiple shots.

Shortly after, officers located the victim, who had been shot multiple times in the arms. He was transported to a hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.

At approximately 7:36 PM, police located Brodus on Prominent Mesa View and arrested him without incident.

A witness to the shooting, Nedas Gailius, told KRDO13 he was at a nearby Dutch Bros when he heard screeching tires. “I look back and there’s a white Ram [truck], and the guy that was in the gray Subaru ended up getting out, pulling a gun out and started shooting at him,” he recalled.

As of 9:15 PM, the intersection of Austin Bluffs and Beverly remains blocked as officers continue to investigate. Authorities are also looking into whether a vehicle crash into a nearby Fazoli’s restaurant shortly after the shooting is connected to the incident. However, police are currently treating the crash and the shooting as unrelated events. The incident remains an active investigation.
