Elon Musk says he 'went too far' in attacks on Trump
Tech mogul Elon Musk expressed regret Tuesday over his explosive online clash with US President Donald Trump.
“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on his platform X.

The brief statement comes after a volatile sequence of posts that began with Musk criticizing a Trump-backed tax and spending bill as a “disgusting abomination,” triggering a series of retaliatory remarks from both sides that escalated into one of the most personal and consequential feuds yet.
After the criticism, Trump told reporters last week, “Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore.” The president went on to suggest he might cut federal contracts tied to Musk’s companies, prompting an even more explosive reply from the SpaceX CEO.
In a since-deleted post, Musk accused Trump of being listed in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files, writing, “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” The claim shocked political observers and drew sharp responses from across the spectrum.
