At least 60 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) while trying to access humanitarian aid in Gaza, according to the territory's health ministry.

The majority of the casualties occurred Wednesday near a food distribution center operated by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in the Netzarim area of central Gaza. Witnesses and officials say 'Israeli' troops opened fire as starving residents gathered for aid, killing at least 25 and injuring dozens more.

A separate incident in Rafah, near another GHF distribution point, left at least 14 more dead as 'Israeli' forces reportedly opened fire again.

Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City reported receiving dozens of those killed or wounded in recent days while attempting to collect aid.

“Many Gazans went to the Nabulsi and Netzarim areas to receive aid and were shot at and shelled with tanks,” said Dr. Mutaz Harara, head of Al-Shifa’s emergency department.

The killings come amid deepening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, where food, water, and medical supplies remain critically scarce.
