The Jordanian Armed Forces on Wednesday evening evacuated Sgt. Nurse Samir Hassan Mifleh Al-Amarat, who sustained shrapnel injuries while performing his humanitarian duties as part of the Jordanian medical team working at the field hospital in southern Gaza.

Earlier today, Jordan strongly condemned an “Israeli” strike that targeted the vicinity of the Jordanian field hospital in southern Gaza.

Al-Amarat was transported overland to Jordan and admitted to Al-Hussein Medical City, where he is receiving treatment under the supervision of a specialized medical team.

Brig. Gen. Dr. Sahm Al-Qussous said the wounded medic had been evacuated and is undergoing comprehensive lab and radiological tests to evaluate his condition before being transferred to the relevant department for continued care.

Dr. Al-Qussous noted that the medic’s overall condition is moderate and that the evacuation was aimed at ensuring he receives proper medical attention under expert supervision.

Jordan has bolstered medical support in Gaza by deploying a second field hospital and specialized medical teams since the start of the “Israeli” war on the Strip, under Royal directives.
