Police arrests several for offensive chants in Downtown Amman protests

A number of individuals have been detained for violating the law during recent protests held in downtown Amman, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

The statement said the detainees were involved in chanting slogans deemed misleading and offensive to the state, adding that their actions constituted legal violations.

Those found to have broken the law will be referred to the public prosecutor to take the necessary legal action.

“Authorities will continue to pursue others who committed offenses and refer them to the relevant judicial bodies,” the PSD said.
