Trump admin considers inviting Netanyahu’s rival Bennett to White House: Hebrew media
The once-strong personal relationship between US President Donald Trump and “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly soured, leading the Trump administration to consider inviting Netanyahu's political rival, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, to the White House – according to sources quoted by “Israel Hayom”.
Previously, the Trump administration had been supportive, replenishing “Israel's” weapon stockpiles and refraining from criticism.
A senior US official said that "this administration remains supportive, but we're not dealing with the same personnel as during the first term. Israel needs to recognize this reality."
Bennett is also a former defense minister and was the leader of the New Right party from 2018 to 2022
Netanyahu's office has denied knowledge of any such approach when contacted by “Israel Hayom”.
