One MoU in the tourism sector focuses on enhancing collaboration while ensuring compliance with international standards and relevant local laws. Another agreement in archiving and languages aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise in document preservation, classification, digitization, retrieval, and the transfer of specialized knowledge.

The two sides also signed an MoU in the fields of water and energy. The agreement seeks to promote joint utilization of water resources, advance water-related technologies, improve energy management, and strengthen legal frameworks through technical cooperation and knowledge-sharing.

A broader framework agreement was also signed, laying the foundation for a comprehensive structure to guide future collaboration between the two nations.

The statement noted a marked increase in trade between Jordan and Malta in 2024. Jordanian exports to Malta reached USD 1.2 million, while imports from Malta totaled USD 3.5 million.

The Royal Court also shared a brief profile of Malta, highlighting its area of 316 square kilometers and a population of 552,747. Malta’s economy continues to grow at a healthy rate of 7.5 percent.

According to data from the World Bank and Malta’s National Statistics Office, the country’s GDP is composed of 82.7 percent services, 15.7 percent industry, and 1.6 percent agriculture. Malta’s GDP per capita stands at USD 63,420.
