Syrian President to meet with US President in Riyadh
US President Donald Trump is expected to meet with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa in the Saudi capital on Wednesday, according to a source familiar with the matter cited by Axios.
Reports revealed that a Syrian Foreign Ministry official told the newspaper that Saudi officials proposed a 45-minute meeting between Trump and Al-Sharaa, and that Trump agreed to “give Al-Sharaa time to be heard.” The US has not officially confirmed the meeting.

Another Syrian official noted that Saudi Arabia has taken the lead in mediating between Washington and Damascus. “The outcome of the meeting, if it takes place, will depend on the Saudis,” the official said.
The potential meeting could signal a major shift in US policy toward Syria, as relations have been largely hostile for over 50 years under the Assad regime.
